# Managing bundles

> Create, edit, duplicate, schedule, and activate Shopify bundles in Appfox, with customer targeting for Classic, Fixed, Mix & Match, volume, and BOGO.

The Bundles page is where you create, edit, and manage all your product bundles. Access it by clicking **Bundles** in the left navigation.

## Bundles list

The bundles list shows all your bundles with key information:

* Bundle name and type
* Number of products in the bundle
* Active or inactive status
* Quick actions (edit, view, duplicate, delete)

### Bundle status

Each bundle has a status indicator:

* **Active**: Bundle is live on your storefront. Widgets appear on product pages.
* **Inactive**: Bundle is saved but not visible to customers. Useful for seasonal bundles or testing.

Toggle status by clicking the status indicator or editing the bundle.

## Creating a new bundle

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click Create a bundle">
    From the Bundles page or home page, click **Create a bundle**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select bundle type">
    Choose from Classic Bundle, Fixed Bundle, Mix & Match, Volume Discount, or BOGO. Each type has a description and use cases.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure the bundle">
    Fill in bundle details: name, products, discount, and any type-specific settings. See individual bundle type pages for detailed guidance.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Customize appearance (optional)">
    Adjust colors, button text, and preview styling for this specific bundle.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and activate">
    Click **Save** to create the bundle. Toggle status to **Active** to make it live.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Editing a bundle

To edit an existing bundle:

1. Go to **Bundles** in the navigation
2. Click the bundle you want to edit
3. Make your changes:
   * Update products
   * Change discount amount or type
   * Modify bundle name
   * Adjust styling
4. Click **Save**

Changes take effect immediately on your storefront.

## Duplicating a bundle

To create a copy of an existing bundle:

1. Find the bundle in your bundles list
2. Click **More actions** (three dots)
3. Select **Duplicate**
4. Edit the duplicated bundle as needed
5. Save and activate

Duplicating is useful for:

* Creating seasonal variations of successful bundles
* Testing different discount levels
* Creating similar bundles for different product categories

## Activating and deactivating bundles

### To activate a bundle:

1. Open the bundle
2. Toggle status to **Active**
3. Click **Save**

The bundle immediately appears on relevant product pages.

### To deactivate a bundle:

1. Open the bundle
2. Toggle status to **Inactive**
3. Click **Save**

The bundle is hidden from customers but remains in your bundle list for future reactivation.

**Use cases for deactivating**:

* Seasonal bundles (deactivate after holidays)
* Testing bundles before full launch
* Temporarily pausing underperforming bundles
* Managing limited-time offers

## Scheduling a bundle

Run a bundle for a set period, such as a holiday or Black Friday offer, without switching it on and off yourself.

1. Open the bundle and find the **Schedule** card
2. Set a **Start date and time**, an **End date and time**, or both
3. Save the bundle and keep its status **Active**

Times are in your store's timezone. Before the start and after the end, shoppers don't see the bundle and its discount doesn't apply at checkout, even for items already in a cart. Leave both dates empty to run the bundle whenever it is active.

In the bundles list, a bundle that hasn't started yet shows a **Scheduled** badge and one that has ended shows **Expired**.

### Countdown timer

With an end date set, tick **Show a countdown timer** to show the time left on the storefront widget, for example "Offer ends in 02:14:33". Edit the **Countdown text** and use `{{timer}}` where the remaining time should appear.

## Targeting customers

Limit a bundle to certain customers, for example to keep wholesale buyers out or to welcome first-time shoppers. Open the bundle and find the **Customer targeting** card:

* **Audience**: show the bundle to **Everyone**, **New customers** (no orders yet) or **Returning customers** (at least one order). Shoppers who aren't logged in count as new customers.
* **Exclude B2B customers**: hide the bundle from buyers purchasing for a company.
* **Only for customers with a tag**: enter comma-separated customer tags. Customers need at least one of them.
* **Hide from customers with a tag**: customers with any of these tags never see the bundle.
* **Apply discount only via the bundle widget**: only products added from the bundle widget get the discount. The same products added another way pay full price.

Hidden bundles aren't shown on the storefront, and the discount isn't applied at checkout either, so it can't be redeemed from a saved cart or link. Tags are matched regardless of capitalization, and you can use up to 10 per list.

## Deleting a bundle

<Note>
  Deleting a bundle is permanent and cannot be undone. Consider deactivating instead of deleting if you might want to use the bundle again.
</Note>

To delete a bundle:

1. Find the bundle in your bundles list
2. Click **More actions** (three dots)
3. Select **Delete**
4. Confirm deletion

Deleted bundles are permanently removed. Historical order data is preserved.

## Organizing bundles

### Naming conventions

Use clear, descriptive names that make bundles easy to identify:

* **Good**: "Summer Skin Care Bundle", "Workout Starter Kit", "Coffee Sampler 6-Pack"
* **Avoid**: "Bundle 1", "Test", "New Bundle"

### Managing many bundles

If you have many bundles:

1. **Use consistent naming**: Group similar bundles with prefixes like "Holiday - ", "BOGO - ", "Mix - "
2. **Deactivate seasonal bundles** when not in season rather than deleting
3. **Track performance**: Use analytics to identify which bundles to keep, optimize, or remove
4. **Regular audits**: Review bundles monthly and deactivate underperformers

## Bundle product management

### Adding products to a bundle

Use the product selector when creating or editing bundles:

1. Click **Add products** or **Select products**
2. Search by product name or browse your catalog
3. Click products to add them
4. Selected products show a checkmark
5. Click away or **Done** to close the selector

### Removing products from a bundle

1. Open the bundle
2. Click the **X** or remove icon next to the product
3. Save your changes

### Product availability

* Products must have available inventory to appear in bundles
* If a product goes out of stock, the bundle widget may not appear or will show unavailable
* Products can be in multiple bundles simultaneously

## Bundle preview

Before saving, use the preview to see how your bundle will appear on product pages:

* Widget layout and colors
* Product images and prices
* Discount calculation
* Button styling

The preview updates in real-time as you make changes.

## Bulk actions

Use the checkboxes next to bundle names to select up to 100 bundles, then choose an action from the toolbar:

* **Activate** or **Pause** the selected bundles.
* **Change discount** to set the discount type and value on every offer in the selected bundles. Fixed-price discounts only apply to Volume and Mix & Match bundles; other types are skipped.
* **Change text** to set a new title, a new subtitle (applied to every offer), or both. Leave a field empty to keep its current text.
* **Apply style** to replace each selected bundle's design with one of your saved templates.
* **Delete** the selected bundles.

Each bulk action syncs to Shopify once. If the combined bundle data would exceed Shopify's 10 KB limit, nothing is changed. If the Shopify sync fails, your changes are reverted (deleted bundles can't be restored). A summary after each action lists the result for every bundle.

## Troubleshooting

**Bundle not showing on product pages**:

* Verify bundle is active
* Check that product page app block is added in theme editor
* Ensure products in bundle have available inventory
* See [troubleshooting guide](/product-bundles/docs/product-bundles/docs/help/troubleshooting)

**Changes not appearing**:

* Clear your browser cache
* Check in an incognito/private browser window
* Allow a few minutes for changes to propagate

<Tip>Use the [Analytics page](/product-bundles/docs/product-bundles/docs/dashboard/analytics) to track which bundles perform best. Focus your efforts on optimizing and expanding your top performers.</Tip>
